About The Position

CALRegional is seeking a part-time Clinical Medical Assistant Skills Assistant to supplement income and make an impact on aspiring healthcare professionals. This role involves assisting students in learning advanced medical assistant skills, grading assignments, and facilitating skill labs. No prior teaching experience is required, but a passion for healthcare education and the ability to mentor students are essential.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a directly related field required.
• Familiar with A&P, Medical Terminology, Basic Pharmacology and Medical Math.
• Front office experience.
• Back-office procedures EKG, Urine, Vitals, BPs, Temps, Injections, Adult-Pediatric, minor wound trays, and bandaging experience.
• Must be energetic and able to deliver instruction passionately.
• Ability to mentor students and hold them accountable to program standards.
• Comfortable with computers and technology.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• Career Technical Education or similar teaching credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advanced student learning through exemplary instruction by following an established course outline.
• Assist in student learning outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/learning strategies.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professionalism and conduct.
• Facilitate all required skill labs with an assistant skill instructor.
• Grade class assignments and exams.
