About The Position

Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. This role involves instructing on the Clinical Medical Assistant curriculum, counseling students, developing supplemental lessons, and maintaining a conducive classroom environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about serving others and making a difference.

Requirements

• Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the center is located, or accredited by a professional trade organization in Medical Assisting
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

• Instruct on the Clinical Medical Assistant curriculum in accordance with Job Corps requirements
• Counsel and motivate students regarding behavior, training, and personal development
• Develop supplemental lessons and recommend curricula changes to enhance learning outcomes
• Individualize the curriculum to fit students' vocational choices and maintain contact with counselors and instructors
• Prepare reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations
• Maintain a conducive classroom environment for learning
• Attend required staff training sessions and adhere to safety practices
