About The Position

Under general supervision, this position guides, coordinates, and evaluates the delivery of behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Bulloch Counseling Center Outpatient Clinic and Specialty Programs (e.g., CST, AOT, Co-Responder). Provides clinical supervision to program counselors and care managers, including training and feedback. Assists assigned locations with any clinically related issues that arise.

  • Master’s degree with associate level or independent license or doctoral degree in a helping field
  • At least 1 years of supervisory experience in a behavioral health environment
  • Valid GA driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Develop long and short-term goals for the behavioral health counselors and care managers
  • Participates in the agency’s strategic and operational planning
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of counselors, care managers and certified peer specialists
  • Maintain awareness of advances in behavioral health, to include evidenced based and best practices
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of services and programs in collaboration with Clinic Practice Managers
  • Plan, organize, and guide the clinical work of the clinic staff to provide continuous active treatment to the individuals served
  • Set priorities and implement goals and objectives to meet or resolve identified behavioral health problems through supervision
  • Provide and oversee clinical supervision of all S/T and intern staff
  • Oversee appropriate staffing processes and work with referral processes
  • Provide clinical consultation (case study) with all counselors
  • Review all data reports impacting clinical work flow and services provided
  • Oversee crisis intervention in the clinics, providing direct care where needed
  • Provide coaching and supervision as needed for any clinical issues arising with staff
  • Ensure appropriate clinical coverage for services provided daily
  • All ongoing clinical issues that cannot be addressed daily to be reported to the Clinical Director for any needed action/changes
  • Evaluate employees at scheduled intervals, obtain and consider all relevant information in evaluations and support staff by giving praise and constructive criticism
  • Motivate, coach and mentor staff to improve quantity and quality of work performed and provide training and development opportunities as appropriate
  • Perform work according to all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines of the agency
  • Attend seminars, conferences and job related trainings
  • Follow agency policy and departmental protocol regarding work schedule, calling in when arriving late or when absent, break and lunch periods and observing provisions of Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Submit leave requests in advance (according to departmental protocol) for annual leave, personal leave, and foreseen sick leave
  • Submit leave requests for unforeseen or emergency sick or personal leave immediately upon return to work and provide documentation for use of leave, as required
  • Present a neat and clean appearance. Wear clothing suitable to job and environment based on clientele served.
  • Observe agency policies on health, safety, security and sanitation; notify supervisor of circumstances or situations that present health hazards
  • Does not use or knowingly permit others to use agency property for personal business
