About The Position

Kindred Hospital - Houston Northwest is seeking a Full Time Clinical Liaison (CL), also referred to as Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist. This role is vital in educating the community on rehabilitation services, developing census through face-to-face contacts, and building relationships with referral sources to increase census. The ideal candidate will identify barriers to the admission process, review patient medical charts, understand test results and therapy evaluations, and possess general medical knowledge. They will also interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare providers, conduct thorough patient assessments, complete Pre-Admission Screens, and schedule meetings and in-services for medical professionals. Maintaining solid working relationships with referral sources through excellent after-sales service is also a key responsibility. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • At a minimum, should hold a 2-year degree.
  • Applicable and current license to practice in accordance with the state licensure act
  • Other professional licensure considered based on experience and training as outlined in the state licensure act
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation required
  • A track record of successful experience in a health care setting, strong interpersonal skills, and experience working with physicians, nursing management, discharge planners, case managers, and social workers

Nice To Haves

  • A graduate holding a four-year degree from a college program with a bachelor’s degree in a health related, business or marketing area of concentration, nursing or therapy preferred.
  • Previous clinical liaison/marketing/sales experience preferred
  • Clinical experience is preferred
  • Approximate time of external liaisons to be in the market territory: 80%

Responsibilities

  • Educate the community on rehabilitation to develop a census through face-to-face contacts
  • Develop business based on the strategic goals of the rehabilitation program
  • Face-to-face connections within territory to build relationships with referral sources to increase census
  • Identifies barriers to the admission process and creates solutions with the assistance of the program director
  • Ability to review patient medical charts and understand test results, therapy evaluations, pre-existing conditions, and have a general medical knowledge of the patient
  • Ability to clearly and professionally interact with patients, families, and healthcare providers while gathering additional clinical information and past history
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify patients for potential admission into the rehabilitation program
  • Complete detailed Pre-Admission Screens, as applicable, according to facility policies and procedures, Lifepoint policies and procedures, and payer requirements, as applicable.
  • Schedules meetings and arrange in services for medical professionals including potential and existing referral sources, doctors, nurses, social workers and other health care professional.
  • Provide patient updates to physicians, payers, case managers, social workers and other relevant persons.
  • Maintain solid working relationships with new and existing referral sources by providing excellent after-sales service.
  • Other duties as assigned
