About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Laurel Highlands Critical Illness Recovery Hospital (LTACH) is seeking a Clinical Liaison (RN / RRT) for a position offering a competitive salary plus an uncapped monthly bonus incentive. At Select Specialty/Regency Hospitals, a division of Select Medical, we care for chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care. Our mission is to provide an exceptional patient care experience that promotes healing and recovery in a compassionate environment. The Clinical Liaison serves as an advocate for patients during the pre-admission process, working with clinical teams to evaluate patient statuses and medical needs. They act as a resource for hospitals and healthcare professionals, developing relationships within medical facilities. Our hospitals focus on a post-ICU plan of care that emphasizes mobility, ambulation, and nutrition. Clinical Liaisons identify post-ICU patients with chronic critical illness who would benefit from this specialized care. They work with physicians, discharge planners, and families to plan the best continuum of care, performing clinical assessments and counseling families on care decisions. They also partner with hospital case managers to ensure smooth patient transfers and remove barriers to admission.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Respiratory Therapist (RT) License.
  • Other Educational and Clinical designation with approval of Vice President, Business & Market Development or designee.
  • Be an investigator and problem solver – use your critical thinking skills to overcome obstacles that prevent patients from being admitted into the optimal level of care.
  • Be flexible, self-driven, accountable for results, autonomous and supportive of team efforts.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior sales or business development experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clinical assessments of referred patients.
  • Counsels with patient's families to assist them in making the best care decisions for their loved one.
  • Partners with hospital case managers to create smooth patient transfer processes.
  • Helps remove payer-related and operational barriers to getting appropriate patients into this highly effective level of care.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients during the pre-admission process.
  • Works with all clinical teams and groups in evaluating both current and potential patients' statuses and medical needs.
  • Serves as a resource for the hospital and healthcare professionals.
  • Develops results-producing relationships throughout the medical facilities.
  • Identifies post-ICU patients who have entered into a state of chronic critical illness and will benefit from this specialized extension of acute care.
  • Works with physicians, discharge planners and patient's families to plan the best continuum of care.
