About The Position

The Clinical Leader assists the Director of Cardiovascular Service Line in the planning, directing, and evaluating of cardiac care at the Cardiovascular Diagnostics Department at MercyOne North Iowa. Supervisory responsibilities include staff development and education, daily staff assignment of patient care, inventory control, continuous quality improvement, collaboration with departments medical director, conducting performance evaluations, Process Excellence and communications with other healthcare professionals and departments.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse, in the State of Iowa.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in an approved course of study or be willing to complete a bachelor's degree within five years.
  • Must have demonstrated competence in an acute patient care setting for at least two years.
  • Must have demonstrated competence in patient care setting for at least four years.
  • Actively pursues ongoing education related to the position.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Effective delegation skills.
  • Acts as a role model in delivery of quality cost-effective care.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
  • Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
  • Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
  • All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of references, background checks, pre-employment physical, drug screen and post offer exam.
