About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team in Oak Creek, WI. This role involves determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, performing routine and complex technical procedures, and monitoring/troubleshooting instrumentation. The technologist will make technical decisions, prepare and test new reagents, report accurate test results, perform preventive maintenance and quality control, and maintain a safe work environment. This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Nice To Haves

• ASCP or AMT certification
• 1 or more years of clinical laboratory testing experience
• Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
