About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join its team at Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa Hospital. This role works in a high-volume, production-based environment and performs a vital component of clinical laboratory science. The position supports quality patient care by conducting laboratory testing, maintaining equipment and supplies, and producing accurate and timely results.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
At least 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience, or an MLS degree.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
Proficiency with computers.
High attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Nice To Haves

ASCP or AMT certification.
Non-traditional degree with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards may satisfy the education requirement.

Responsibilities

Determine whether specimens are acceptable for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
