About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join its team at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas in Austin, Texas. This role works in a high-volume, production-based environment and performs a vital component of clinical laboratory science, helping deliver quality patient care through accurate and timely testing. The schedule is first shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts may be required depending on business needs.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology; applicable science credits from a non-traditional degree may meet education requirements if they meet CLIA standards.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
Proficiency with computers.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Nice To Haves

ASCP or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
