About The Position

Pangea Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a high-complexity molecular diagnostics environment with a strong focus on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), assay validation, quality excellence, and scientific innovation. This is a full-time onsite role based at our Tustin, CA facility. This role offers a consistent schedule from Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM with no weekends or rotating shifts. Requirements

  • Current California CLS license (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, Biological Science, or related field
  • Minimum two years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Comfort with ambiguity and evolving processes in a growth-stage environment
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with NGS platforms strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform, analyze, and validate high-complexity molecular diagnostic assays, including NGS-based testing.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and testing platforms.
  • Accurately document testing procedures, results, and observations according to established protocols.
  • Ensure specimen integrity, test accuracy, and adherence to laboratory quality standards.
  • Participate in routine laboratory operations to support efficient workflow and turnaround times.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participate in proficiency testing, quality control, and corrective action processes.
  • Follow established SOPs and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support validation and verification studies for new and existing assays.
  • Assist in evaluating new technologies and workflows.
  • Contribute to research and development projects supporting innovative diagnostic solutions.
  • Work closely with laboratory leadership, scientists, and cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate findings, issues, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture focused on excellence and innovation.
