LEAD Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Full Time
About The Position
This is a working Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Laboratory Lead position. In addition to performing CLS duties, the employee assists the Administrative Lab Director with supervisory duties. Following procedures established by Section Heads and medical directors, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs a variety of laboratory tests in multiple areas, including high-complexity tests as defined by CLIA. The role is responsible for the accuracy and reporting of results and requires applying scientific principles, theories, and techniques, exercising professional judgment, and demonstrating computer and microscopic proficiency and effective communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in biological or chemical sciences as required for California State licensure.
- Completion of an accredited Clinical Laboratory Scientist program with the requisite internship.
- Valid and current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license; must provide the original or an original duplicate license upon hire.
- Professional judgment, computer proficiency, microscopic proficiency, and good communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests in multiple areas of the laboratory, including high-complexity tests as defined by CLIA.
- Ensure the accuracy and reporting of test results.
- Follow procedures established by Section Heads and medical directors.
- Assist the Administrative Lab Director with supervisory duties.
