Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)-Night Shift
About The Position
Madera Community Hospital is a General Acute Care, private, not-for-profit hospital serving residents throughout California’s Central Valley. The hospital is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to collect, prepare, and analyze specimens—including blood, urine, sputum, feces, exudates, secretions, and other body fluids—from patients ranging from newborns through geriatrics. The CLS follows prescribed procedures in Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Immunohematology, and Hematology, and calculates and reports results in accordance with laboratory and hospital policies and standards. This is a full-time night-shift position with 10-hour shifts.
Requirements
- Current State of California Clinical Lab Scientist License.
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- 2–5 years of experience as a CLS Generalist.
- Ability to handle medical specimens and conform to Universal Infection Control procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and supervisors, nursing staff, and medical staff.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in clinical chemistry, immuno assay, quality control, unity lab, and validation/verification protocols.
Responsibilities
- Collect, prepare, and analyze patient specimens, including blood, urine, sputum, feces, exudates, secretions, and other body fluids.
- Perform specimen analysis by following prescribed procedures in Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Immunohematology, and Hematology.
- Calculate and report results in accordance with laboratory and hospital policies and standards.
- Handle medical specimens and follow Universal Infection Control procedures.
- Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors, nursing staff, and medical staff.
