About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager or designee, this position supervises all operations of the laboratory including planning, organizing and delineating all duties and responsibilities of all testing and support personnel for his/her respective shift. This position serves patients in and out of the hospital of all ages.

Requirements

Current California Medical Laboratory Technologist license and maintain current.
Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or Medical Technology or related specialty.
Three years of practical experience as a licensed Medical Technologist active in all testing areas of the laboratory or equivalent on job training for equal period of time.
Highly knowledgeable in the applications of basic and advanced laboratory testing in all departments and demonstrate command of statistical principles governing documentation of the accuracy of laboratory test procedures.
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

Completion of one year of laboratory internship or cumulative experience of two years under direction of an accredited program.
Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and technical expertise by coordinating work assignments of laboratory personnel.
Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in written form.
Must be able to interface effectively with physicians and practitioners.
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
