About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Science Student is under the general direction of the Section Supervisor/Manager and Leadership staff, and performs a variety of laboratory tests, under direct supervision, to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Responsibilities

  • Performs general operational duties including workflow.
  • Participates in continuing education workshops and seminars.
  • Assists with the stock levels, ensures stock rotation, and monitors expiration date of stock on hand and data collection.
  • Performs laboratory procedures and calculates, transcribes and records test results.
  • Prepares specimens for analysis and provides results to Pathology.
  • Correlates results with diagnosis in order to determine validity or results.
  • Performs Quality Assurance and Quality Control in assigned laboratory areas.
  • Communicates unusual findings to on site supervisor and/or Pathology and caregivers.
  • Manages specimens.
  • Performs maintenance procedures on laboratory instruments and/or equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
