About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant - PRN position is responsible for performing procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by the hospital entity. This role also involves reporting and evaluating test results and assisting other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care. The position is located at Texas Health Denton and operates on a PRN (as needed) basis with 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required. CLIAFE

Nice To Haves

Six (6) months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is highly preferred.
PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician is preferred upon hire.
Customer Service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

For those entities performing phlebotomy; employee follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient
Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity
Reports and evaluates test results
Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care
