About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs technical procedures and quality control in the Clinical Lab, operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation, and takes steps to ensure accurate reports. The role also performs phlebotomy, clerical tasks, and other duties as needed.

The position reports to the Laboratory Director and Technical Supervisors. Laboratory employees are expected to promote the hospital’s mission and philosophy by treating patients, visitors, colleagues, and staff in a caring, courteous, and confidential manner. Staff are responsible for the accuracy of their work under applicable professional standards, maintaining the confidentiality of reports and the integrity of patient-sample identification, and completing designated tasks that help the laboratory meet regulatory standards for clinical and anatomic laboratories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science or medical technology.
• Medical technology internship.
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.

Nice To Haves

• Three months to a year of experience in a clinical laboratory is preferred.
• National licensure is preferred.
