About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II is a staff-level position at Northbay Health. The role performs, interprets, and reports accurate and timely laboratory testing in assigned laboratory sections, following standard operating procedures and policies and complying with state and federal laboratory laws. The position may supervise technicians and other non-independent practitioners. The scientist must use critical-thinking skills and make independent judgments based on knowledge of laboratory medicine and disease processes.

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved school of medical technology.
• California Clinical Laboratory Technologist license.
• Meet state and federal requirements for supervising high-complexity laboratory testing under CLIA 88 and the State Title for Laboratories.
• Skills in phlebotomy, basic medical terminology, typing, math, and computers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for geriatric, adult, young adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• ASCP certification or equivalent desired.
• Three years as a registered technologist in an acute care hospital desired.
