Under general supervision, the Clinical Laboratory Representative performs as a customer service center representative for the Laboratory. This role facilitates communication with patients, outpatient physicians’ offices, the Laboratory, and between patients, staff, and other units in the hospital. The representative problem-solves concerns for doctor’s offices, nursing units, and physicians, and provides lab results via telephone, mail, and fax. The role is also responsible for performing patient registrations, including stat registrations, and preparing materials such as ABNs and ICD9 codes related to the registration process.
