About The Position

Overlake Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant responsible for specimen collection (venipuncture/fingerstick) and preparation, along with other duties consistent with skills and training, including Phlebotomy, Specimen Processing, and Point of Care Testing. This role is offered on a Per Diem/Variable Shifts basis. Overlake Medical Center is a 349-bed, nonprofit regional medical center in the Puget Sound region, employing nearly 3,000 people and known for providing award-winning, compassionate, and patient-centered care as the first Level III Trauma Center on the Eastside. The medical center is led by a volunteer board of trustees and has approximately 1,000 active and courtesy providers on its medical staff.

Requirements

  • Clinical Lab Assistant License through Washington State Department of Health - Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification (PC)
  • Technical training /certification in phlebotomy
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two years hospital experience (for Clinical Lab Assistant II)
  • Experience with phlebotomy on neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, adult, trauma and critical patients (for Clinical Lab Assistant II)

Nice To Haves

  • Six months hospital experience preferred (for Clinical Lab Assistant)
  • Experience with phlebotomy on neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, adult, trauma and critical patients also preferred (for Clinical Lab Assistant)
  • At least two (2) years of phlebotomy experience preferred (for Clinical Lab Assistant)
  • Customer Service experience preferred (for Clinical Lab Assistant)
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) registration a plus (for Clinical Lab Assistant II)
  • Customer Service experience preferred (for Clinical Lab Assistant II)
