About The Position

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Clinical Lab Assistant. This position performs patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service. The role involves collecting, labeling, and processing patient specimens for testing, as well as registration and test data entry. The Clinical Lab Assistant is also responsible for monitoring supply levels.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of a Phlebotomy Program or Course in lieu of 1 year experience in Phlebotomy
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
• Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
• Previous experience in a lab or office setting (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
• Collects, labels, and processes patient specimens for testing.
• Responsible for registration and test data entry.
• Monitors supply levels.
