About The Position

The Health, Wellbeing & Independence Department is seeking motivated and compassionate Nursing Student Interns to gain hands-on clinical experience in a community-based human services setting. This internship provides nursing students with the opportunity to work alongside experienced nursing professionals while supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in maintaining their health, wellness, and independence. Interns will observe and participate in nursing care activities, health assessments, care coordination, and health education under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This position offers valuable exposure to community nursing, chronic disease management, health promotion, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Registered Nurse program (2nd semester Junior minimum).
  • Eligible to participate in a clinical internship through their university.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must pass a background check and complete onboarding requirements.
  • Proof of Physical within the last year
  • Proof of negative TB test
  • Complete lift test of up to 25#.
