About The Position

The University of Miami is seeking a Clinical Instructor in the Division of Gastroenterology within the Department of Medicine. This full-time, non-tenure track position focuses on advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures. The role involves approximately 80% of the time dedicated to training under an Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist, performing ERCP and EUS, and managing patients undergoing these procedures. The remaining 20% of the time will be spent supervising Gastroenterology fellows in performing upper endoscopies and colonoscopies, one day per week, including billing for these services. The incumbent will also participate in scholarly activities as time permits.

Requirements

  • MD Degree.
  • Completion of an ACGME US internal medicine internship and residency, or Boarded in Internal Medicine.
  • Completion of a 3-year GI fellowship.
  • Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology (or board eligible).
  • Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing).
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required.
  • Valid DEA licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Training under an Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist performing ERCP and EUS.
