About The Position
The Clinical Informatics Specialist serves as educator and subject matter expert for specific modules in Epic and/or other clinical information systems. Cameron Hospital is an independent, not-for-profit facility that proudly serves Angola and Steuben County. We’ve been a cornerstone of this community and the surrounding area in northeast Indiana dating back to 1926. Over the years, we’ve helped generation after generation of area residents enjoy better health and live comfortably. Requirements
- Previous experience for which CLINICAL INFORMATICS SPECIALIST will be training
- Two years in education, healthcare, or a related field
- Ability to adapt teaching style for a diverse group of learners in a structured classroom or informal one-on-one setting
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with a dedication to building strong relationships
- Understanding of clinical and clerical workflows, processes, and terminology as they relate to designated Epic modules and other clinical information systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High School Diploma/GED
- Epic Credentialed Trainer within 3 months of hire
Responsibilities
- Provide education and training to users of clinical information systems virtually and in person
- Provides support to users of clinical information systems
- Assesses workflow related processes and requirements to facilitate system enhancements and modifications
- Recommends, implements, and supports approved system optimizations
- Participates in process improvement initiatives to identify potential uses of the information systems and potential optimization of current use of systems
