About The Position

Coordinate's goal achievement of organizational and clinical departments by: streamlining work processes; encouraging integration of technologies that support improved patient safety/patient outcomes through best practices and development of secure, reliable systems. Designs new practices and implements new systems. Provides leadership in the facility related to clinical process design and system implementation.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Informatics or patient/clinical care related specialty or graduation from and accredited school of nursing and two (2) years of clinical experience in the appropriate specialty area plus two (2) years progressive responsibility in clinical data management or technical clinical informatics related experience
  • 1+ years of experience as an Operating Room Nurse or a Certified Surgical Technologist
  • 1+ years of Epic experience
  • Experience interpreting, tracking, and disseminating surgical device data
  • Knowledge of clinical knowledge of workflow and patient care; specific area of clinical nursing or program focus; integration of technologies that support improved patient safety/patient outcomes through best practices and development of secure, reliable systems., computer programming principles, techniques and procedures; operating principles and characteristics of clinical computer systems and associated software; program and system documentation requirements; system integrity requirements; quality improvement methodologies; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
  • Skill in developing programs; nursing principles and practices; developing policies and procedures; research and assessment on the clinical needs of the hospital informatics system; applying needs assessment techniques; applying adult education practices; developing public relations; applying cost accounting methods; organizing and prioritizing among conflicting priorities; applying team building concepts; facilitating groups; performing statistical analysis; using computers and a variety of software applications; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
  • Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment
  • Stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen
  • Hearing and speech to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
