Position is responsible for planning, reviewing, and controlling all activities and functions of clinical transformation by using Information Technology to continually assess and improve the way patient care is delivered and providing managerial, technical and motivational leadership. The Clinical Informaticist will drive clinical transformation through careful analysis of current processes and workflows and change management strategies that align with Memorial Hermann’s strategic plan, values, and objectives of Memorial Hermann Healthcare System (Memorial Hermann). The Clinical Informaticist will achieve transformation by accounting for patient's view of continuity of care, departmental view of integration, and all clinical disciplines’ view of best practice. He or she will leverage available resources, metrics, benchmarks, system standards, policies, and procedures across the system to achieve transformation. The Clinical Informaticist demonstrates informatics knowledge and skills required in a large, complex corporate Information System to ensure the efficient, effective, and consistent delivery of high quality services. The Clinical Informaticist will work closely with system, service line, and facility leadership and resources to assist in the design of the clinical information systems (CIS) system and build consensus around the process, workflow, and content for the CIS. The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to the values of the corporation through active participation in the Partners in Caring, Customer Service, Six Sigma, and Robust Process Improvement programs. Typically reports to Manager, Clinical Informatics. The Clinical Informatics professional serves as a key liaison between clinical operations, facility leadership, and Information Systems, supporting the effective use of technology to enhance patient care and operational performance. This role partners with multidisciplinary teams to optimize clinical workflows, lead and support projects, facilitate workflow design sessions, provide education and training, and analyze and present data to drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an effective communicator, and able to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment while promoting the adoption and optimization of clinical information systems.
