About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody excellence, compassion, teamwork, and purpose to join their IS Informatics and Education team in the role of Clinical Informaticist – Intermediate. This position serves as a vital bridge between IT and clinical and operational partners at Ball Memorial Hospital. The role requires someone who is clinically grounded, tech-curious, and people-first, comfortable operating in ambiguity, engaging confidently at every level of the organization, and bringing both clinical expertise and a passion for technology. Responsibilities include coaching new providers and resolving support tickets, proactive relationship-building through office rounding and virtual support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • RN preferred
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a health care professional (e.g., Registered Nurse with an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license, Dietitian, Social Worker, or Clinical Psychologist, or other).
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience required
  • Experienced user of health information technology systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a liaison between IT and clinical/operational partners at Ball Memorial Hospital
  • Providing day-to-day Cerner support and working toward Epic accreditation/certification
  • Supporting additional clinical technologies used across the care environment
  • Coaching new providers and clinical staff on effective use of health information systems
  • Resolving support tickets and providing both virtual and on-site technical assistance
  • Proactively rounding in offices and clinical areas to build relationships and identify support needs
  • Supporting data analytics and quality of care measures to improve population health outcomes
  • Utilizing process improvement and change management skills to promote efficiency through technology
  • Considering the impact of technological changes on patient safety, healthcare delivery, and quality reporting
