About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody excellence, compassion, teamwork, and purpose to join their Information Services team in the role of Clinical Informaticist – Intermediate. This role supports technology initiatives by ensuring clinical workflows, patient safety, and care delivery needs are fully integrated into system design and implementation. The Clinical Informaticist brings a strong clinical foundation, curiosity for technology, and passion for improving the clinician experience. This role is deeply embedded in IS projects, working alongside project managers, analysts, and clinical stakeholders from start to finish, helping solve problems, identify gaps, and ensure successful outcomes. The Clinical Informaticist acts as a key operational and clinical partner, helping bridge the gap between clinical practice and technology. This role ensures systems support patient safety, workflow efficiency, and high-quality care delivery while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, RN preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a healthcare professional (e.g., Registered Nurse with active Indiana RN license or NLC RN license, Dietitian, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, or other).
  • 3–5 years of clinical experience required.
  • Previous experience in data systems is required.
  • Informatics-related certification, or willingness to obtain certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the clinical representative on IS projects, partnering alongside project managers and technical teams
  • Supporting system design, testing, validation, and implementation aligned to real-world clinical workflows
  • Conducting workflow analysis to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assisting with data analytics, quality reporting, and outcome measurement initiatives
  • Promoting adoption and effective use of clinical information systems across care teams
