The Clinical Informaticist Associate serves as a subject matter expert for the EHR, providing in-depth support to the inpatient care team and acting as a liaison between clinicians, operational leadership, and IT. This role involves troubleshooting complex clinical workflow and system issues, collaborating with IT to enhance system functionality, and performing advanced troubleshooting independently. The associate will also identify and manage change related to technology adoption, provide end-user support, assist with reporting tools, and participate in initiatives to reduce administrative burden and leverage clinical data analytics. They will analyze clinical workflows, recommend improvements, ensure successful implementation and administration of clinical applications, and participate in cross-functional teams to enhance patient care, teammate satisfaction, and safety. The role also includes conducting purposeful rounding, mentoring other clinical informatics teammates, and assisting with onboarding new clinicians. The Clinical Informaticist Associate is expected to understand user pain points, personalize system settings, and recommend training based on usage data and ongoing evaluation. They will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify optimization opportunities and promote adherence to recommended workflows, while also supporting system upgrades and enhancements. This role determines needs based on evidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, quality initiatives, and business needs, recommending new applications or design modifications. They develop partnerships with leaders to improve outcomes, safety, operations, and regulatory preparedness, and participate in or lead EHR analysis and design sessions. The focus is on standardized best practice workflow processes and clinical content to ensure alignment across all sites/departments for improved quality and patient safety. The associate will assist in identifying metrics to monitor project effectiveness, lead clinical informatics department projects, manage to deadlines and resources, and develop test plans and scenarios. They will also assist the training team in delivering virtual training sessions and developing job aids and quick reference guides.
