Job Summary Leads and manages operational improvement projects throughout the organization including both clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable business process improvements. Makes decisions regarding work methods, with moderate impact on overall department outcomes. Work assignments are typically more complex and larger in scope. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable clinical and business process improvements. Collects and analyzes process and/or quality data to initiate, develop, and recommend operational practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost. Experienced in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis and reporting and prevention of healthcare associated infections; educating all healthcare providers, patients and families about infection control; and the development of health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Community Health Departments and Center for Disease Control (CDC) requirements. Works under minimal supervision/instruction; may serve as technical specialist/trainer and mentor to less experienced staff.
