About The Position

AnthroMed Education is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) to serve as a Clinical Fellowship (CF) Mentor for a Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow in North Chicago, IL. This is a great opportunity for an experienced SLP looking to support the professional development of an emerging clinician while earning additional income. The mentorship role offers a combination of in-person and remote supervision throughout the Clinical Fellowship experience.

Requirements

  • Hold an active CCC-SLP through ASHA and maintain their Certificate of Clinical Competence throughout the mentorship.
  • Have a minimum of 9 months of full-time experience working as an SLP after obtaining their CCC-SLP (part-time experience may be considered as an equivalent).
  • Complete 2 hours of professional development related to supervision and self-attest to completion through ASHA.
  • Candidates who have not yet completed the required supervision coursework may still be considered if they are willing to complete the training promptly before beginning the mentorship.
  • Active ASHA CCC-SLP
  • At least 9 months of full-time post-CCC SLP experience (or part-time equivalent)
  • Eligible to provide Clinical Fellowship supervision under ASHA requirements
  • Willing to complete required supervision-related professional development if not already completed
  • Strong communication, clinical, and mentorship skills
  • Ability to provide required in-person direct observation in North Chicago, IL 60044

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and professional support to the Clinical Fellow throughout their CF experience.
  • Provide a minimum of 6 hours of direct, in-person observation per 12-week segment while the Clinical Fellow provides evaluation or treatment services to patients/clients.
  • Provide a minimum of 6 hours of indirect supervision per 12-week segment. Indirect supervision may include reviewing diagnostic reports, treatment records, and plans of treatment; monitoring the Clinical Fellow's participation in case conferences and professional meetings; evaluating the Clinical Fellow's work; consulting with colleagues regarding the Clinical Fellow's performance; consulting with clients and/or their families; and providing professional guidance, feedback, and support.
  • Ensure indirect supervision hours may be completed remotely.
