Full-Time Clinical Faculty: School of Nursing
About The Position
Quinnipiac University's School of Nursing is seeking dynamic educators and clinicians for a full-time, 12-month clinical track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This role supports a competency-based curriculum aligned with the AACN 2026 Essentials, focusing on learner-centered approaches, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice. Faculty are expected to contribute to developing practice-ready nurses through innovative teaching and mentoring. The position involves teaching concepts such as person-centered care, population health, interprofessional practice, scholarship, inquiry, informatics, and healthcare technology to students across the lifespan. Successful candidates will also contribute to the university's strategic initiatives, including academic success, community building, innovation, distinctive experiences, redefining health and human potential, and extending partnerships.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing or related field
- Unencumbered RN license in Connecticut
- Recent clinical practice experience
- Experience with competency-based education and curriculum development
- Evidence of effective teaching
- Service to profession or community
- Commitment to contribute to the excellence of the academic community

- Doctorally-prepared candidates with clinical practice and teaching experiences teaching across the lifespan with prelicensure BSN students.
Responsibilities
- Teaching intensive, clinical track nursing faculty position, with primary responsibility teaching in the New Careers in Nursing (NCN) work compatible program for mid-career professionals transitioning into nursing at the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI) at Hartford HealthCare in Hartford, CT; faculty will also have teaching responsibilities on the North Haven campus
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality programs that demonstrate academic excellence and success
- Participate in competency-based curriculum development, assessment, and continuous quality improvement aligned with the AACN 2026 Essentials
- Advise and mentor students to support academic success and professional growth
- Contribute to School and University service, including committee participation and professional engagement within the community
- Engage in scholarly activities and maintain currency in nursing practice and education
- Participate in faculty development
- Engage in the School of Nursing’s strategic plan
- Actively participate in the School of Nursing community
