Clinical Exercise Specialist
About The Position
Sentara Therapy Center Marina Shores is hiring a Clinical Exercise Specialist for Outpatient Rehab Therapy. The Clinical Exercise Specialist administers therapy treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed leader. They provide quality exercise and health education for patients, ensuring a safe, pleasant, and professional atmosphere, and are productive and efficient in daily operations. The role involves establishing and updating exercise programs to meet client/participant needs, supervising and assisting clients/participants with their daily exercise sessions while ensuring their safety, and providing effective instruction to clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. The position also supports the health education needs of the center, assists Therapists/Providers in delivering effective treatment plans, documents patient response to treatment, and performs other clinical duties as assigned. The specialist demonstrates the ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Recreational Therapy, Physical Education, or Clinical Exercise Physiology.
- 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administers therapy treatments under the direct supervision of licensed leader.

- Establishes and updates the exercise program to address the Client/participant's needs.
- Supervises and assists clients/participants with their daily exercise sessions, ensuring client/participant safety.
- Provides effective instruction to Clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
- Supports the health education needs of the center.
- Supports Therapist(s)/Providers in providing effective treatment plans.
- Documents patient response to treatment.
- Completes other clinical duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services.
