Clinical Exercise Specialist
About The Position
Sentara Therapy Center - Wards Corner is hiring a Clinical Exercise Specialist. The Clinical Exercise Specialist administers therapy treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed leader. They provide quality exercise and health education for patients, ensuring a safe, pleasant, and professional atmosphere. The role requires productivity and efficiency in daily operations. The specialist establishes and updates exercise programs to address client/participant needs, supervises and assists clients/participants with their daily exercise sessions, ensuring their safety, and provides effective instruction to clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. The position supports the health education needs of the center and assists Therapists/Providers in delivering effective treatment plans. The role involves documenting patient response to treatment and completing other clinical duties as assigned, demonstrating the ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Recreational Therapy, Physical Education, or Clinical Exercise Physiology.
- 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
Responsibilities

- Establishes and updates the exercise program to address the Client/participant's needs.
- Supervises and assists clients/participants with their daily exercise sessions, ensuring client/participant safety.
- Provides effective instruction to Clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
- Supports the health education needs of the center.
- Supports Therapist(s)/Providers in providing effective treatment plans.
- Documents patient response to treatment.
- Completes other clinical duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services.
