About The Position

Life Scan is a nationally recognized medical practice providing prevention-based screenings, physicals, and fitness evaluations for firefighters and police officers. The Clinical Exercise Physiologist performs patient assessments and fitness evaluations, interprets ECGs, and develops individualized exercise prescriptions and dietary recommendations. The position requires regular regional travel and national travel to designated fire and police department locations. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science program.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Strong technical skills, including MS Office, imaging software, and EMR platforms.
• Professionalism and compassion.
• Own a vehicle capable of carrying the required equipment.
• Ability to travel regularly regionally and nationally to designated fire and police department locations.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history.
• Assess body weight, BMI, and BIA body fat percentage.
• Prepare patients for and perform 12-lead resting and exercise ECGs, using independent intermediate interpretation skills.
• Perform muscular strength and endurance assessments.
• Perform flexibility assessments.
• Create customized exercise prescriptions based on exam results.
• Provide dietary recommendations.
• Complete individualized and detailed charting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
