Clinical Exercise Physiologist
About The Position
Life Scan is a nationally recognized medical practice providing prevention-based screenings, physicals, and fitness evaluations for firefighters and police officers. The Clinical Exercise Physiologist performs patient assessments and exercise evaluations, prepares customized exercise prescriptions and dietary recommendations, and maintains detailed patient charts. The role requires regular regional travel and national travel to designated fire and police department locations. Candidates must have their own vehicle capable of carrying the required equipment. Positions are available full-time and part-time, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science program.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong technical skills, including MS Office, imaging software, and EMR platforms.
- Professionalism and compassion.
- Own a vehicle capable of carrying the required equipment.
- Ability to travel regularly regionally and nationally to designated fire and police department locations.

- Master's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review patient history.
- Assess body weight, BMI, and BIA body-fat percentage.
- Prepare for and perform 12-lead resting and exercise ECGs, with independent intermediate interpretation skills.
- Perform muscular strength and endurance assessments.
- Perform flexibility assessments.
- Create customized exercise prescriptions based on examination results.
- Include dietary recommendations.
- Complete individualized, detailed charting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
