Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.) Position OverviewUnder the general supervision of the identified Director/Designate and in collaboration with the site, Regional Program Team and site Education Manager/Director, the incumbent is responsible for: Identifying priority learning needs and implementing strategies to address them for all clinical staff in an assigned area. Modelling excellence in clinical practice, and providing clinical knowledge in collaboration with other identified experts to enhance the overall care provided to patients/clients/residents. Developing and/or implementing all necessary learning modules to support the strategic vision of the designated clinical program. Engaging in collaborative activities (e.g. regional working groups, communities of practice) to enhance clinical practice, promote evidence informed practice, and work towards a goal of improved overall efficiency and system performance. Professional Responsibilities and Development. Will participate with central Orientation (General & Patient Care) & site driven educational roll outs as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years recent related nursing experience with demonstrated clinical practice competency relevant to the assigned area.
  • Previous experience in clinical education is essential, and may include past experience as a preceptor to students and/or orienting new staff.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the applicable professional college (e.g. College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Competency in Microsoft Office including Word and PowerPoint and/or other presentation software required.
  • Familiarity with online learning modalities required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations.
  • Evidence of competency in the principles of adult learning and teaching strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function creatively and independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
  • Initiates and supports change.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies.
  • Hours of work are flexible and may include evening, night or weekend shifts as required and/or directed.
  • This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
  • A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing is preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Course work/certification in adult education is an asset.
  • Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in a related clinical area preferred.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
