About The Position

As the Clinical Educator & Practice Lead, you’ll play a key role in advancing clinical excellence, supporting team development, and leading quality initiatives that align with Baptist Housing’s mission and values. You’ll support quality and education initiatives for long-term care for four days a week. This is a temporary, 6-month contract, with potential for ongoing employment. As the Clinical Educator and Practice Lead, you are a champion of quality care, education, and best practice. You will provide expert clinical consultation, deliver and evaluate educational programming, and support quality improvement strategies across the organization. With a strong foundation in adult education and gerontological care, you will guide team members in developing their clinical skills while ensuring that our practices meet provincial, legislative, and accreditation standards. You foster a culture of safety and learning and are committed to servant leadership in everything you do.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (BCCNM) or degree in a recognized health science/professional program.
  • Formal training or experience in adult education or clinical instruction.
  • Minimum 5 years in healthcare with at least 2 years in a clinical role (long-term care preferred).
  • 5+ years in education or training roles with experience in quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated alignment with Baptist Housing’s values and wellness framework.
  • Strong understanding of seniors’ needs, adult learning principles, and change management.
  • Experience with RAI-LTC, PointClickCare, SharePoint, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Analytical, organized, and able to lead projects independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assess educational needs, develop content, and deliver learning programs for clinical teams.
  • Provide mentorship, orientation, and ongoing training for team members.
  • Support performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Lead organization-wide clinical initiatives and ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Analyze data and implement continuous quality improvement strategies.
  • Develop policies, conduct audits, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Identify risk trends and support site leadership with incident reviews and prevention strategies.
  • Promote a culture of workplace safety and wellbeing.
  • Integrate health and safety topics into all education planning and delivery.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to develop programs, tools, and resources that elevate care quality.
  • Participate in regional quality meetings and support the organization's strategic direction.

  • Annual salary range between $101,000 to $117,000 pro-rated to 0.8 ($80,000 to $93,000)
