About The Position

The Clinical Education Specialist (CES) is responsible for delivering structured, high‑quality training to patients initiating insulin pump and CGM therapy. This role ensures a safe and effective transition into diabetes technology use, supports ongoing patient education, and contributes to operational efficiency within the Clinical Operations team. The CES collaborates closely with Clinical Specialists, Account Managers, and other internal teams to enhance patient outcomes, strengthen adherence, and support the organization’s clinical and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Science.
  • Must be a Licensed Nutritionist (current and active license required).
  • Three (3) Years of Experience in patient education.
  • Knowledge of diabetes care or diabetes technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured, protocol‑based training sessions for insulin pump systems (e.g., Tandem, iLet) and CGM devices.
  • Ensure patients understand basic device operation, initiate therapy safely, and demonstrate readiness to begin independent use.
  • Document all training activities in ZOHO according to established protocols.
  • Utilize the official Training Checklist to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Facilitate educational workshops on carbohydrate counting, advanced device features, and basic data interpretation.
  • Provide guidance that supports adherence, confidence, and improved clinical outcomes.
  • Reinforce key concepts taught during initial training.
  • Assist the Clinical Specialist during in‑person or virtual clinics.
  • Support clinic operations by preparing patients for their session, managing patient flow, and providing basic education as needed.
  • Schedule patient training appointments and coordinate logistics.
  • Conduct initial post‑training follow‑up to ensure patient stability and address early questions.
  • Escalate all complex or clinically sensitive cases to the Clinical Specialist.
  • Provides general guidance on product use, reinforcing the education previously provided by the clinical team.
  • Addresses questions related to the training process, initial device use, and logistics.
  • Escalates any complex clinical case to the Clinical Specialist.
