Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Clinical Education Specialist-related occupation.
  • Experience with Orthopedics products and procedures in a clinical setting.
  • Experience handling in-procedure trauma surgery materials.
  • Experience with Product, clinical and disease state for orthopedic trauma.
  • Experience leading professional education programs, and monitoring therapeutic and institutional trends for surgical products.
  • Experience identifying unmet needs in clinical environments and developing educational and product offerings to meet those needs.
  • Experience working with cadaveric tissue.
  • Experience training, mentoring and coaching new associates in human and animal anatomy, medical language, and the procedure steps and appropriate product application in surgical procedures across a variety of specialties.
  • Experience delivering presentations including performing product in-services on animate, inanimate, cadaveric and other simulated models.
  • Experience leading Clinical Education projects through application of customer insights and strategic planning to developing and implementing new education modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage clinical and disease state knowledge to create effective and accurate learning solutions for professional education.
  • Implement practical courses using appropriate anatomical models and other training mediums.
  • Support educational program execution including events primarily centered around surgeon training, new product development launches, and sales training programs.
  • Understand the applicability of competing products in targeted procedures.
  • Support in-procedure development with respect to clinical anatomy and surgical methods.
  • Follow health care compliance guidelines and operating room training and safety standards including for blood-borne pathogens.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in clinical education, recommending appropriate models to meet learning objectives, hands-on education development and execution, and other clinical needs.
  • Order, receive, and ensure the proper maintenance of all lab equipment and anatomical tissue while maintaining accurate and complete records of training events for compliance and metrics purposes.
  • Collaborate with Professional Education, R&D, Marketing, and Meetings and Conventions professionals across all levels.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with all partners and facilitate key strategic relationships with facilities and third party vendors.
  • Translate business requirements into clinical education strategy and plans.
  • Acquire and translate customer insights to the broader organization as it relates to unmet needs and future educational and product offerings.
  • Understand and apply market, industry, competitor, compliance, legal, and regulatory knowledge.
  • Shape clinical education offerings with respect to external marketplace, including competitor offerings and strategy, and changing collaborators.
  • Lead clinical education projects through application of customer insights and strategic planning in order to develop and implement new education modalities.
