Clinical Director - LPC, LCSW, LSATP
About The Position
Pyramid Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Director to lead clinical services across inpatient and outpatient programs in Newport News, Virginia. The role provides strategic oversight of clinical functions, supports regulatory compliance, and develops a high-performing, compassionate clinical team serving individuals with mental health and substance use challenges. The Clinical Director oversees clinical care and staff, supports continuous improvement and clinical planning, monitors outcomes and quality, and ensures evidence-based practices and applicable standards are followed. The position also participates in operational and marketing initiatives and addresses documentation, electronic medical record, billing, and program-efficiency issues. Requirements
- Active Virginia license as an LCSW, LPC, or LSATP.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in behavioral health, substance use, or human services.
- Strong knowledge of clinical best practices, compliance standards, and staff development strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical functions, including assessments, individual and group therapy, family programming, aftercare planning, utilization review, and crisis intervention.
- Supervise and support clinical staff through onboarding, ongoing training, treatment team leadership, documentation review, and professional development.
- Collaborate with program and corporate leadership on continuous improvement and execution of the clinical strategic plan.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, client engagement, and quality assurance processes.
- Oversee curriculum development and implementation of evidence-based practices in partnership with divisional clinical leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards, and represent the program in audits and reviews.
- Participate in operational meetings and marketing initiatives; address documentation, EMR, billing, and program-efficiency issues.
- Manage clinical crisis situations and provide stabilization support as needed.
- Directly supervise clinical staff, ensuring appropriate training, support, and adherence to clinical standards.
