About The Position

The Clinical Director provides leadership, administration, supervision, and quality oversight for all clinical services within a 6-bed residential mental health treatment program. This role ensures compliance with Florida AHCA regulations, applicable Florida Statutes, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, accreditation standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies. The Clinical Director leads clinicians and behavioral health staff while promoting evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field.
Current unrestricted Florida license as LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist.
Minimum 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in behavioral healthcare.
Residential mental health treatment experience.
Knowledge of Florida behavioral health regulations.
Current CPR certification.
Successful Level II Background Screening.
Valid Florida driver’s license.
Strong leadership, clinical assessment, documentation review, communication, conflict resolution, organization, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of DSM-5-TR and evidence-based behavioral health treatment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health records.

Nice To Haves

Certified Clinical Supervisor.
Experience with AHCA licensing surveys, quality improvement, electronic health records, and clinical policy development.
Training in trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorders.
EMDR training/certification.
Knowledge or training in eating disorder treatment.
Knowledge of Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities

Direct and oversee clinical programming and therapeutic services.
Ensure individualized, recovery-oriented treatment and evidence-based practices.
Develop clinical policies, procedures, and programming.
Monitor clinical outcomes, documentation quality, productivity, and timeliness.
Provide supervision to therapists and clinical staff.
Review biopsychosocial assessments and ensure treatment plans are timely, measurable, and updated.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and oversee discharge planning, continuity of care, and referrals.
Conduct chart audits and participate in QAPI, performance improvement, incident reviews, and root cause analyses.
Maintain regulatory compliance and assist with AHCA surveys, accreditation reviews, and corrective action plans.
Review clinical incidents, suicide risk and safety planning, crisis intervention, abuse/neglect reports, and required reporting.
Support hiring, onboarding, competency assessments, training, continuing education, and staff evaluations.
Develop and evaluate therapeutic groups, curricula, and clinical services.
Maintain a small caseload of up to 6 clients and provide individual, family, and group therapy as needed.
Collaborate with the Medical Director, nursing, case management, administration, behavioral health technicians, referral sources, families, and guardians.
Attend leadership meetings, review staffing, maintain reports, support budgeting, and protect confidential health information.
