About The Position

The Clinical Director in Training (CDIT) is a developmental role designed to prepare qualified healthcare professionals for future Clinical Director positions. Under the guidance of the Market Leader and Clinical Market Leader, the CDIT will learn and assist in managing the Wellness department to ensure residents achieve and maintain their highest level of wellness and function. This role provides hands-on experience in clinical operations, regulatory compliance, staff management, and resident care coordination under the guidance of experienced clinical leaders. The CDIT will learn to ensure high-quality care standards while promoting a culture of safety, dignity, and respect for residents. This role is on-site in California.

Requirements

  • Current RN, LPN, LVN license (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in senior living, long-term care, or related healthcare setting
  • Strong leadership potential and interest in management roles
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel within assigned region (if applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured leadership training program focused on clinical operations and regulatory compliance
  • Shadow and support Clinical Directors with day‑to‑day clinical, staffing, scheduling, and operational responsibilities
  • Assist in reviewing resident care plans, medication management, and health assessments to ensure quality care
  • Support quality assurance initiatives and help meet clinical performance metrics
  • Learn and assist with state and federal regulatory compliance, audits, and documentation accuracy
  • Support hiring, training, and mentorship of Wellness team members
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver person‑centered care
  • Communicate with residents and families regarding care plans and health updates
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing plans, inventory management, and basic operational planning
  • Engage in ongoing professional development in geriatric care and clinical leadership
  • Perform additional duties within scope of practice as assigned
