The Clinical Dietitian provides quality medical nutrition therapy to a variety of patients, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, evaluation, education, and monitoring. They communicate effectively with other health care professionals, serve as a preceptor/mentor for dietetic interns and department staff, and perform other duties as assigned. The role involves accurately managing position paperwork, following correct hand hygiene procedures, utilizing appropriate scripting and responding to patients and customers effectively, and safely using position equipment. The dietitian will use the electronic patient medical record (EPIC) and patient menu software (VST) correctly, and be able to accurately assess/evaluate the patient population utilizing appropriate evidence-based documentation through the nutrition care process. They will also counsel patients regarding nutrition-related diseases using the nutrition care process.
