About The Position

Responsible for delivering high-quality nutrition care to both inpatient and outpatient populations. Conducts comprehensive nutrition assessments, develops individualized nutrition care plans, and provides evidence-based dietary recommendations. Educates and counsels patients on nutrition-related health concerns while monitoring their progress and modifying care plans as needed. Implements physician-ordered nutrition therapies, ensures appropriate execution of prescribed interventions, and evaluates patients' adherence, acceptance, and tolerance of nutrition therapy. Regularly reassesses patients to update nutrition care plans and optimize clinical outcomes. Also oversees the planning, coordination, and daily operations of the nutrition office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field required.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) license or certification in the state of employment required.
  • Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nutrition experience in an acute care or hospital setting required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates clear and professional communication with patients, families, physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and external partners.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis skills to support quality patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Knowledge of current nutrition care standards, medical nutrition therapy, and evidence-based dietetic practices.
  • Familiarity with hospital food service operations, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Understanding of applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and make sound clinical decisions independently.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and standard computer applications.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities
