Requirements

  • Must possess active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or proof of eligibility for such certification.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and delivers nutritional care for adult and geriatric residents, including those who require modified or therapeutic diets.
  • Writes modified diets, adjusts recipes, and guides preparation of therapeutic diet products.
  • Organizes complete nutritional care including assessments, counseling, treatment team involvement, and education programs.
  • Recommends ordering and prepares specifications for specialized therapeutic food items.
  • Coordinates with food service staff to ensure diets meet nutritional needs and patient acceptance.
  • Collects data and supports nutritional audits for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Plans, teaches, and evaluates nutrition programs for patients, staff, and families.
