About The Position

Nemours is seeking a Clinical Registered Dietitian – Pediatric Genetics and Medically Complex (Full-Time) at Nemours Children’s Health – Jacksonville, FL. This role involves providing medical nutrition therapy to children with genetic conditions and who are medically complex, from birth through age 18. The dietitian will be part of multidisciplinary care teams, applying advanced medical nutrition therapy to patients with complex medical conditions, focusing on managing inborn errors of metabolism and providing enteral nutrition support. This role is for individuals passionate about blending clinical science with family-centered care.

Requirements

  • Must have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
  • Must have completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration and licensure.
  • Must obtain RD certificate within 90 days of hire by passing the national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
  • Obtain Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status through the Delaware Department of State: Division of Professional Regulation within 6 months of hire.
  • Additional state Licensure in Pennsylvania, Maryland, or New Jersey may be required, based on the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Nutrition related field preferred.
  • Additional specialty certification preferred (CDE, CNSC and or CSP).
  • Hospital experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments.
  • Calculate precise pediatric nutrient requirements.
  • Formulate evidence-based nutrition care plans.
  • Implement tailored metabolic interventions.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation.
  • Counsel caregivers on modified diets.
  • Instruct families on specialized formulas.
  • Assess caregiver comprehension and compliance.
  • Log detailed patient education metrics.
  • Monitor care plan clinical efficacy.
  • Evaluate therapeutic goal progress.
  • Deliver ordered follow-up care.
  • Participate in patient care conferences.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary medical teams.
  • Review current metabolic genetic and nutrition support literature.
  • Complete targeted continuing education activities.
  • Maintain Commission on Dietetic Registration portfolio.
