About The Position

The Clinical Data System Analyst serves as a vital link between health systems, medical providers, and the quality department. Collaborating across disciplines, this role assesses, quantifies, and resolves data quality issues within Business Intelligence (BI), reporting, and health IT systems. The analyst works with department heads to implement systems that reduce errors and plays a key role in regulatory reporting, including UDS, OSHPD, HEDIS, and grants.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in all facets of IT, including systems applications, database administration, and reporting software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or Related Field. In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in informatics, EMR, health education, public health, nursing or other related fields.
  • At least 2 years of healthcare experience.
  • Highly adept using power BI, excel and other analysis and visualization tools.
  • EClinicalWorks experience required.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent written, oral and customer service skills with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills, superior telephone etiquette, and an ability to deal effectively with customers, peers, and management.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey and obtain information.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer knowledge, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), communication systems and internet search capabilities.
  • Must be detailed orientated with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
  • Expertise in analysis, systems thinking, and design.
  • Strong analytical, abstract reasoning, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the IT Director to ensure appropriate equipment and systems are available.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Utilize a ticket tracking system for EHR and support Director and departments across FTOC.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting and diagnostics with vendors, and users.
  • Participate in EHR system maintenance upgrades and patches to debug before Production launch.
  • Generate reports to evaluate data integrity.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process and quality improvement.
  • Analyze patient data from various sources to identify at-risk patients, care gaps, etc. using Population Health Management (PHM) software.
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades with Patient Technology aspect.
  • Assist in APM (Alternative payment model) and reporting capabilities in grant reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to enhance eClinicalWorks EHR system functionality and user experience.
  • Address and resolve issues related to EHR interfaces and auxiliary services.
  • Export and analyze data from EHR systems to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve data collection, analysis, and quality.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to integrate new features, enhance EHR software, and advance technological capabilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend technological advancements to improve system performance and data management.
  • Ensure EHR systems and data processes comply with regulatory requirements, including UDS, OSHPD, Title X, HQM, HEDIS and other grant-related documentation.
  • Prepare and review visual maps or dashboards to illustrate trends and support regulatory reporting.
  • Train and educate users on data quality principles, EHR functionalities, and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support and updates to keep users informed and systems optimized.
  • Analyze exception reports and data trends to identify and resolve system or process issues.
  • Make formal recommendations to leadership on data quality improvements and system enhancements.
  • Recognize areas for policy and procedure improvement.
