About The Position

LRADAC is expanding its treatment services by partnering with Columbia Area Mental Health (CAMH) to provide individual and group counseling for patients with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental illness. This is a grant-funded position located at CAMH, under the supervision of a LRADAC Program Manager. The Clinical Counselor will provide counseling and support to adolescents, adults, and their families in managing and improving symptoms related to co-occurring substance use disorders and mental illness. The position is funded by the SCORF (South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund) grant and has an end date of August 30, 2026, with continuation contingent upon grant renewal.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a field related to clinical behavioral health is required.
  • Must have license or be in the process of obtaining licensure.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in performing the essential duties of the position for substance use/misuse populations required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor and/or Licensure as an LPHA preferred.
  • If not fully independently licensed as LPHA, must obtain ADC certification within three (3) years.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
  • Develops and maintains individualized treatment plans.
  • Manages and monitors patient progress, identifies patient needs, and maintains all clinical records through independent work as well as treatment team engagement.
  • Provides individual, family, group and crisis intervention counseling services.
  • Provides case consultation and case management services to assure comprehensive quality care of a patient.
  • Participates in regular clinical supervision.
  • Provides bio-psycho-social assessments as needed.
