About The Position

Under the direct supervision of AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners approved Clinical Supervisor; the Clinical Intern actively participates in all aspects of clinical intake process, including but not limited to comprehensive biopsychosocial and placement assessments necessary to fulfill educational requirements.

Requirements

  • Current CPR/First Aid/Narcan training.
  • Current and annual negative TB Test.
  • Current enrollment in a Master’s Degree program at an accredited college or university requiring internship to satisfy graduate degree requirements.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with internal and external audiences.
  • Must maintain high ethical standards and demonstrate sound judgment, problem solving skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Successfully pass a background check and an Arizona Department of Health Services Adult Protective Services check.

Nice To Haves

  • Current and valid Fingerprint Clearance Card preferred.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check performed annually and upon hire, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all aspects of clinical duties including, but not limited to intake, orientation, client file creation, and maintenance.
  • Participates in individual counseling, client psychoeducation, and other elements of care.
  • Engage in at least one hour of weekly supervision with Clinical Site Supervisor.
  • Documents assessments, treatment plan, discharge plan, and all pertinent service delivery notes applicable to organizational practices.
  • Facilitate program curriculum, group, and individual sessions as required.
  • Compose and type routine correspondence, make copies, and file material, as needed.
  • Discuss issues regarding program requirements and/or conflicts with clients.
  • Assist clients in completing applications for government assistance, handling legal issues, and referrals to independent agencies (case management).
  • Observe and enforce internal policies and procedures and behavioral health licensure, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties, as required.
