About The Position

LifeStar Response is looking for a Clinical Coordinator to join their team. This role is ideal for an experienced EMT, Paramedic, or EMS professional who is passionate about patient care, clinical quality, compliance, and developing the next generation of EMS providers. Working closely with the KQT Health Director of Nursing (DON), Clinical Director, Training Team, and operational leadership, this position will play a key role in ensuring clinical practices meet the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and patient care.

Requirements

  • Current Paramedic (preferred) or EMT certification; nursing or other relevant clinical credentials may be considered.
  • Previous EMS field experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of EMS clinical protocols, documentation requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify trends, analyze clinical documentation, and make sound recommendations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinical and operational leadership.
  • Professional, approachable, and committed to maintaining a positive clinical culture.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive clinical and employee information appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with quality assurance, chart auditing, clinical education, compliance, or EMS leadership strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review Patient Care Reports (PCRs) and clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and quality.
  • Conduct routine chart audits and evaluate patient care processes to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
  • Identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of clinical risk.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions and performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Track key performance indicators, including patient outcomes, protocol compliance, and clinical performance.
  • Assist with maintaining and improving LifeStar Response's overall clinical quality assurance program.
  • Work collaboratively with the KQT Health DON and appropriate management to address clinical concerns and improve patient care.
  • Ensure clinical operations remain compliant with applicable state, federal, and industry standards, including HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
  • Assist with EMS agency licensing, inspections, audits, and credentialing processes.
  • Serve as a liaison with outside hospitals, state and local agencies, EMS organizations, and other healthcare partners as directed by management.
  • Identify compliance concerns and assist leadership with appropriate resolution.
  • Facilitate clinical and employee health activities, including vaccine administration, TB testing, COVID-19 testing, and other health and clinical initiatives as needed.
  • Support clinical staff with questions and concerns related to patient care, protocols, and clinical practices.
  • Maintain inventory control for BLS, ALS, and SCT equipment, medications, controlled substances, and clinical supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels, expiration dates, security, and appropriate documentation.
  • Identify supply or equipment concerns and coordinate with appropriate leadership to ensure operational readiness.
  • Work alongside the Clinical Director and Training Team to develop and deliver ongoing clinical education.
  • Assist with training EMTs and Paramedics to maintain and improve clinical competencies.
  • Identify training opportunities based on QA findings, clinical trends, protocol changes, and operational needs.
  • Help create a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence.
  • Serve as a key liaison between clinical staff and management.
  • Communicate clinical concerns, trends, protocol updates, and quality initiatives effectively.
  • Partner with hospitals, facilities, clients, and healthcare organizations to address clinical concerns and enhance service delivery.
  • Collaborate across departments to promote consistency and high-quality patient care throughout the organization.
